Bigfoot - The local nickname of a mythical Bigfoot-like creature that roamed the woods outside the town of Cicely, Alaska on the quirky rural drama NORTHERN EXPOSURE/CBS/1990-96. In reality, the "creature" was a woodsman named Adam (Adam Arkin) whose talents included gourmet cooking, writing, and possessing knowledge of covert government operations. While working as an anonymous contributor to the Cicely News and World Telegram Adam wrote articles on talking trees, and botanical espionage by the government. Adam first appeared on the episode "Aurora Borealis" (8/30/90) and later married a woman named Eve on the episode "Our Wedding" (5-11-92).  See also - CREATURES: "Bigfoot"

Chicken Legs - The not-so-affectionate nickname of Marcy Rhodes (Amanda Bearse), a bank employee and feminist next-door neighbor to the Bundy family on the sitcom MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN/FOX/1987-97. When Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill), a frustrated shoe salesman, wanted to drive Marcy from his home, he mocked her skinny stature by using quips relating to a chicken, often calling her "Chicken Legs." Once Al said "Look what's crossed the road. I can't be a chicken, it hasn't got breasts...just nuggets." During an argument, Marcy's husband Steve (David Garrison) told his wife "You know why you have chicken legs? It's because your mother eats all those eggs." Al calls Marcy a "chicken" for the first time on episode No. 113 "Johnny Be Gone." The dialog follows: Marcy [looking round]: "Al, do you see a fish eye anywhere round here?" Al [looking at her wearing just a towel]: "No, but I see a chicken leg." On episode No. 232 "Kiss of the Coffee Woman," Al puts together a Top Ten List on Marcy of suggestions to approve her appearance. It read: 10. Wear traditional Islamic garb covering all but the eyes; 9. Feather removing electrolysis; 8. Ski mask; 7. Sew up holes in ski mask; 6. Hire attractive woman to stand in front of you at all times; 5. Beak job; 4. Put paper bag over ski mask; 3. Shave head, tattoo Cindy Crawford's face on back of head, and learn to walk backwards; 2. Poke out eyes of every man on Earth; 1. Get President to make every day Halloween. TRIVIA NOTE: On the sitcom I LOVE LUCY/CBS/1951-57 Lucy Ricardo (Lucille Ball) was called "Bird Legs" in grade school.

Happy Meals on Legs - The terms refers to the citizens of Sunnydale, California on the horror adventure BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER/WB/1997+. The Vampire Spike describes ordinary human beings as "Happy Meals on Legs," fast food for the vampires who are attracted to "Hellmouth," a portal to an evil dimension that rests below  the town of Sunnydale.

Jackie Gleason's Dislocated Foot - On January 30, 1954 in a satire of the silent movie The Wedding, Jackie Gleason was playing a "Peck's bad boy" character when he accidentally slipped and fell while performing one of his own pranks. The audience thought it was hilarious. Gleason left the stage as indiscreetly as possible and headed for Doctor's Hospital. He had dislocated his right foot, torn ligaments and fractured a leg. He returned to the air on March, 23, 1954.

Mary Hart's Legs - Mary Hart's legs were ensured for $2 million by Lloyd's of London as a publicity stunt (but only for one day) after a brouhaha over a new ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT stage set that obscured Hart's classy legs from the viewers at home. The show's ogling fans resented this remodeling and soon Hart's legs were back on camera and this time with a leg light that enhanced her gorgeous gambs. In 1991, the lights were turned off temporarily during Hart's pregnancy (her first).

Old Gold Cigarettes Dancing Boxes - During the 1950s  Old Gold Cigarettes sponsored quiz show commercials that featured models dressed in oversized replicas of Old Gold cigarette boxes. Called "The Dancing Butts," they danced across the stage during commercial spots Unseen but for their gorgeous legs, the models in these classic TV ad spots included Gloria Vestoff as "Regular," Dixie Dunbar as "King Size" and Whitey as the "Little Matchbox."

Sugarfoot - Name given to young, naive lawyer Tom Brewster (Will Hutchins) who left the East in search of adventure on the 1860s western series SUGARFOOT/ABC/1957-61. A "Sugarfoot" was a cowboy so inept that he was listed one class lower than a tender foot.
