Pall Mall Award - A cash award of $500 was given to the reporter whose story was highlighted on the anthology series THE BIG STORY/NBC/1949-57, a long running documentary drama program based on actual case histories of journalists who sought out corruption, crimes and scandals. The Pall Mall award was presented by the show's sponsor, the American Tobacco Company. Later changed to the "The Big Story Award."
