World Music Video Awards - First
broadcast live from London in January of 1987,
this video awards program hosted by Gary Davis
was a count down of the years top 20 videos as
voted by the experts ..."you." The program was
telecast live and linked via satellite with
seven other cities on four continents including
the countries of Japan, Germany, Italy, Canada,
Australia, England and France. The award was a
large plaque with a mirrored surface containing
a computer generated hologram of a satellite
soaring over the Earth beaming down signals. The
first telecast was sponsored by Coca-Cola
