ACT Awards -
Since 1972, the Achievement in Children's Television award has been
presented by the media watch dog group, Action for Children's Television
for significant achievements towards improving children's television
programming. The Action for Children's Television (ACT) was formed in 1968
by four women from Newton, Massachusetts who wanted to eliminated violence
and other negative behavior seen in the wasteland of children's
Television. The ACE awards are presented by the National Academy of Cable
Programming located at 1724 Massachusetts Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20036.
