Papa's Recipe - Nickname of moonshine brew on the family drama THE WALTONS/CBS/1972-81. Papa's Recipe was the family moonshine formula handed down to the Baldwin sisters, Miss Emily (Mary Jackson) and Miss Mamie (Helen Kleeb), two spinster sisters living in the Blue Ridge Mountains during the Depression. They sold their bootleg moonshine (oblivious of any wrong doing) and were fond of offering select visitors to their home a small sample of their dear old departed father's alcoholic legacy. When the sheriff raided the sister's home and took their still, he luckily overlooked their Papa's recipe formula because "There are certain items of wardrobe that even the sheriff wouldn't rummage through."
