Capricorn Crude
- Title of novel written by Valene Ewing (Joan Van Ark) who appeared
on the prime time serial drama KNOT'S LANDING/CBS/1979-83.
Valene
("Val") was the wife of Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford), an alcoholic
member of the wealthy Texas clan of oil barons featured on another
prime time serial DALLAS/CBS/1978-91. Her novel was inspired by the
antics of her husband's powerful and sometimes ruthless family.
On episode No. 53. "Living Dangerously" (Originally Aired 4/22/1982)
Val's publisher changes the name of her book to "Capricorn Crude"
and hires Joe to be the editor. On episode No. 169 "Brothers And
Sisters" (Originally Aired 11/13/1986) a studio options "Capricorn
Crude" and wants Val to write the script.
