The Bajoran Renewal Scrolls - The Bajorans, a humanoid race from the
planet Bajor, on the sci-fi series STAR TREK: THE NEXT
GENERATION and DEEP SPACE NINE, utilized scrolls in their
ceremonial rituals.

During their Gratitude Festival, an annual
26-hour ceremony, the Bajorans write down their problems on
paper scrolls and then burn them in a ceremonial fire.
To quote
Major Kira Nerys (Nana Visitor) who once initiated the opening
of the festival "As the scrolls burns may our troubles turn to
ashes with them."
