Fantasy series - The first fantasy television series was TOPPER/CBS/1953-56 based on the Thorne Smith's novel about a banker, Cosmo Topper (Leo G. Carroll) who bought a home only to find the ghosts of its former occupants haunting it. This series was the forerunner of such fantasy series as BEWITCHED/ABC/1964-72; I DREAM OF JEANNIE/NBC/1965-70; FANTASY ISLAND/ABC/1978-84; and HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN/NBC/1984-89.
