Foreign Productions - The first major Australian production to be broadcast on United States
television was the six-episode series AGAINST THE WIND telecast over Metro
Media Stations from August 26 through Sept 1, 1979.
One of the first British series to play
successfully in the United States was the syndicated program THE ADVENTURES
OF ROBIN HOOD/CBS/1955-58 starring Richard Greene as the famous 12th century
outlaw of Sherwood Forest. The series was produced by Sapphire Films, Ltd.,
England.
