Magazine-of-the-Air - One of
the first magazine-of-the-air programs was T.V. SCREEN MAGAZINE/NBC/1948
featuring a potpourri of news items, interviews, music, fashion and hosted
by John K. McCaffrey (Editor of American Mercury). This series was the
forerunner of such programs as 60 MINUTES/CBS/1968+, 20/20/ABC/1978+ and
DATELINE NBC/NBC/1992+.
