Salty - Beige Himalayan cat seen on
the sitcom CAROLINE IN THE CITY/NBC/1995-99. Salty lived with
cartoon illustrator Caroline Duffy (Lea Thompson) who worked out of
her New York City apartment. The cat was declawed, wore a rhinestone
collar, often sat on top of Caroline's drafting table and slept in
her bed.
Once when Caroline needed some ginger ale, she stuck a Post-it to
Salty's tail and sent the cat downstairs to Caroline's boyfriend Del
(Eric Lutes).
The role of Salty the cat is played by Tiki the cat whose
previous credits included Sassy (voice of Sally Field) in the
feature film Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993).
Tiki's trainer is Tammy Maples of Jungles Exotics.
