Midnight the Cat - ANDY'S GANGMidnight - Musical black cat featured on the children's program SMILIN' ED'S GANG (ANDY'S GANG)/NBC/1950-55. Midnight played the violin and danced for the viewers. Midnight, who sometimes wore a dress,  spoke (purred) only one word: "Ni-i-i-ce" (voice of June Foray). A puppet mouse named Squeaky (who played a drum)  accompanied Midnight during her appearances. A real black cat and hamster were used for the close-ups of Midnight and Squeaky. TRIVIA NOTE: Midnight was also the name of the black cat with the diamond-studded collar featured in the opening credits of the detective series MANNIX/CBS/1967-75 and BARNABY JONES/CBS/1973-80.
