Finally, in May of 2003,
Willow casts a massive spell that shares the power of the Slayer with not
only the recruits helping Buffy but to thousands of other girls around the
world. The spell also manages to change Willow's red hair momentarily to
white (symbolic of her goodness). Meanwhile, Angel the vampire appears and
Buffy kisses him tenderly, but that doesn't quell Angel's jealousy over
Buffy's liaisons with Spike. Putting their differences aside, Buffy sends
Angel back to Los Angeles to prepare a second front in case she fails and
then leads a group of novice Slayers into the Hellmouth to defeat The
First and his evil minions. After an apocryphal battle where Spike
destroys a horde of Ubervamps with the aid of a mystical amulet that
generates a burst of brilliant light through his very own body, an
earthquake ensues and Sunnydale High School and the rest of the town
begins to disappear from the map along with the Hellmouth. Before leaving
Spike, Buffy tells him "I love you" to which Spike says "No, you don't,
but thanks for saying it." Sending Buffy on her
way, Spike body continues to disintegrate as the pulsing light from the
amulet furthers the destruction of everything in sight. Just in the nick
of time, Buffy and the Scooby Gang (minus Anya - who got sliced in half)
snag a ride out of town on a speeding school bus. Looking back on the hole
in the ground that used to be Sunnydale, Dawn asks Buffy "What are we
gonna do now?" Buffy's responds to Dawn, not with words but just a simple
smile. Next stop, Cleveland? See also - "Willow

Buffy Ready for Action
"In
every generation there is a Chosen One.
She alone will stand against the vampires, the
demons and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer."

Buffy Quotes |
[Buffy's
first day at Sunnydale High School] |
Giles: |
I'm Mr. Giles. The librarian. I was told
you were coming.
Buffy: |
Great! So, um, I'm gonna need
Perspectives on 20th Century...
Giles: |
I know
what you're after!
(He shows her a book entitled "VAMPYR")
Buffy: |
That's not
what I'm looking for. |
Giles: |
Are you sure?
Buffy: |
I'm way sure.
Giles: |
My mistake.
[Later] |
Giles: |
You really have no idea what's going on,
do you? You think it's co-incidence, your being here? That boy was
just the beginning.
Buffy: |
Oh, why can't you people just leave me
alone?
Giles: |
Because you are the Slayer. Into each
generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world, a Chosen
One, one born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires...
Buffy: |
...with the
strength and skill to hunt the vampires, to stop the spread of their
evil blah, blah, blah... I've heard it, okay? |
Buffy: |
You wanna go out tonight?
Willow: |
Strangely, I feel like staying at home... and doing my homework...
and flossing... and dying a virgin.
Buffy: |
You know,
you can O.D. on virtue. |
[Buffy
talks to her friends who raised her from the dead] |
Buffy: |
I was
happy. Wherever I was ... I was happy. At peace. I knew that
everyone I cared about was all right. I knew it. Time didn't mean
anything, nothing had form... but I was still me, you know? And I
was warm, and I was loved, and I was finished. Complete. I don't
understand about theology or dimensions, or ... any of it, really,
but I think I was in heaven. And now I'm not. I was torn out of
there. Pulled out by my friends. Everything here is hard, and
bright, and violent. Everything I feel, everything I touch - this is
hell. Just getting through the next moment, and the one after that -
knowing what I've lost... They can never know. Never. |
Buffy: |
Who died? |
Giles: |
How did you
know there had been a murder? |
Buffy: |
D'uh! We're
the school on top of the Hellmouth. We have more deaths than fire
drills!'
Buffy: |
I'm gonna give you all a
nice, fun, normal evening if I have to kill every person on the face
of the Earth to do it.
Buffy: |
You're a vampire. Oh,
I'm sorry. Was that an offensive term? Should I say undead American? |
