Twilight Zone, The - The title of the anthology program THE TWILIGHT ZONE/CBS/1959-65 narrated by the series' creator, Rod Serling. The opening narration of each episode explained the meaning of the Twilight Zone with the following summary:

"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone."

The Twilight Zone has seen two revivals including THE TWILIGHT ZONE/CBS/SYN/1985-88 with Charles Aidman (1985-87) and Robin Ward (1987-88) as Narrators and THE TWILIGHT ZONE/UPN/2002-03 with Forest Whitaker as Narrator/Host. TRIVIA NOTE: The Twilight Zone was also a term used by Air Force pilots to describe the moment when a plane loses sight on the horizon while landing. SciFi Channel - Twilight Zone
