Two Guys & A Girl Pregnancy Contest - In the spring of 2001 the ABC Network held an online contest to let the viewers decide which female cast member of the sitcom TWO GUYS AND  A GIRL   would become pregnant. Possible couples chosen for parenthood were "Sharon and Johnny," "Pete and Ashley," and "Berg and Irene."  Of course, there was a "No Pregnancy at All" category from which to cast your ballot. The results of this gene pool poll were revealed on the season finale on May 16th. And the winners were [drum roll please...] "Pete and Ashley." An added bonus for participating in the insemination Sweepstakes contest was the chance to win a walk-on role on the show. The lucky winner got a trip for two to Los Angeles and an appearance as an extra in an upcoming episode in the fall season. A similar promotion appeared on the NBC comedy-drama ED. The show offered web surfers via NBCi.com the chance at 30 seconds of primetime national airtime on the "NBCi Live Surprise" contest which gave four winners the opportunity to deliver a live message [pre-approved text] during a 30-second spot. The spots aired during four episodes of ED on Wednesdays in May 2001. Viewers choose the best announcement of the top four entries by voting through the NBCi website. The winner received a $5,000 grand prize.
