Mary Ann's Gilligan's Island CookbookMary Ann's Gilligan's Island Cookbook - Cookbook inspired by the sitcom GILLIGAN'S ISLAND/CBS/1964-67 in which actress Dawn Wells played a naive country girl named Mary Ann who shipwrecked on a desert island with six other castaways. Written by Dawn Wells with the assistance of Ken Beck and Jim Clark (and a forward by Bob Denver) Mary Ann's Gilligan's Island Cookbook (Rutledge Hill Press, 1993) has chapters on Appetizers, Beverages, Soups, Salads, Breads, Entrees, Vegetables, Sauces, Desserts, and, of course, Coconut Cream Pies. The book also includes an episode guide for the original series, snippets from the show's scripts, a short biographical sketch of Dawn Wells, and recipes contributed by Bob Denver, Russell Johnson, Tina Louise, Alan Hale, Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer. Many of the recipes in the book were based on family recipes handed down by Dawn's mother Evelyn G. Wells and her mother's mother, Grammie Rose. Here are some recipe titles found in the book: Professor's Avacado-Stuffed Eggheads; Mrs. Howell's Imported Caviar Pie; Hot Ginger Lemonade; S.S. Minnow Strewn; Skipper's Navy Bean Soup; Three-Hour Tour Fruit Salad; Mrs. Howell's Tea Sandwiches; Gilligan's Pancakes; Castaway Zucchini Casserole; Mr. Howell's Wall Street Walnut Cake; and Mary Ann's Famous Coconut Cream Pie.
