Queen of the Kitchen - Appellation given to Beulah, a black maid with a heart of gold working for the white Henderson family on the sitcom BEULAH/ABC/1950-53. The character of Beulah first appeared as part of the FIBBER MCGEE AND MOLLY radio program (premiered in 1945). The original Beulah was performed by white actors Marlin Hurt and Bob Corley before black actress Hattie McDaniel took over the role. On the television series both Ethel Waters and Louise Beavers played the role of Beulah, (a.k.a. "Queen of the Kitchen"). Beulah's catchphrase was "Somebody bawl fo' Beulah?"
