Chin-Chin & Paw-Paw -
Two Chow dogs featured on the drama GILMORE
GIRLS/WB/CW/2000+. Chin-Chin and his brother Paw-Paw were the pets
of Michel Gerard (Yanic Truesdale),a concierge who worked at the
Independence Inn, and later the Dragonfly Inn in the small town of
Stars Hollow, Connecticut.
Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy), the chef at the Dragon Fly Inn
called Chin-Chin a walking flea circus. She didn't like Michel
bringing his dogs to work because she didn't want her customers
finding hair in the Lobster bisque.
Of the two dogs, Chin-Chin was one who was aloof, obnoxious, and a
biter. His favorite song was "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion.

and fresh-ground lamb. When Sookie dropped a sandwich on the
ground at the Labor Day picnic, it was Paw-Paw who ate it. Chin
Chin "doesn't even like barbeque" per Michel.
Chin-Chin died on episode "Farewell, My Pet" He was cremated at
the animal hospital. His memorial service was held at The Dragon
Fly Inn at 5:00PM (Twilight). After the memorial, his ashes were
scattered under the poplar tree behind Michel's house where he so
often went to think. The flowers at the the memorial were red,
yellow, and orange Gerbera Daisies to complement Chin-Chin's fur.
Before the service, Michel, in his grief, went to Luke's, a local
coffee shop, and ate a hamburger in memory of his beloved
Chin-Chin, who loved Luke's burgers.
TRIVIA NOTE: The Chow breed
comes from Mongolia and Northern China, where it is referred to as
Songshi Quan, which means "puffy-lion dog."
