"This is Mona Loveland"
- The situation comedy THE NEW WKRP IN CINCINNATI/SYN/1991-93
starred Mona Loveland (Tawny Kitaen), a sexy female deejay whose
seductive voice captivated the listening audience of her late night
radio program "Mona Till Midnight."

Mona (bottom center) and the staff of WKRP
She introduced her show with the soothing message "This is Mona
Loveland. I'll be your guide to dreamland. It's just you...and
me...and the music till midnight."
The precursor to Mona's romantic on-air-style was Venus Flytrap (Tim
Reid), a hip black disc jockey who worked the night shift at radio
station WKRP on WKRP IN CINCINNATI/CBS/1978-82. His on-air alter-ego
used gongs, incense and soft jazz to set the mood.
TRIVIA NOTE: On the situation comedy
RHYTHM AND BLUES/NBC/1992 Troy Curvey, Jr. appeared as "The Love
Man," the host of a WBLZ radio program filled with romantic music
("The Love Man says...").
