Dr. Cadaverino - Zany late night huckster of horror who hosted Nightmare Theater in Milwaukee on station WITI-TV from 1964-1977. Dr. Cadaverino (played by Jack Du Blon) sported a beard, fangs, a bowler hat, shaggy hair, and a buttoned covered green coat. In the Doctor's world, everybody was "Stupid!" including his guests, and the actors and directors of the movies he showed on the program but in particular Igor, the Doctor's headless assistant who reaped such nicknames as "El Creepo" and "Dumbhead". The show's main attraction were the typical schlock horror classics like Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), The Unearthly (1957), and the mandatory Frankenstein, Wolfman, and Dracula movies. Nightmare Theater ended it thirteen year run on October 29, 1977. Two years after Dr. Cadaverino left the air, Chicago native Rick Felski donned sunglasses, fangs, bushy hair, a hump, top hat and tails and a bird (sitting on his shoulder) to become Toulouse-NoNeck, the host of Shock Theater broadcast on Milwaukee's WISN-TV Channel 12 from 1979-1985. Toulouse NoNeck talked like Peter Lorre and called his viewers "Zombies" (in fact, his theme song was "Welcome Zombies" by Pat McCurdy and The Men About Town). Besides showing the worst in horror films NoNeck enjoyed doing parodies of popular songs, thus "Wild Thing" by the Troggs became "Dead Thing." Felski's interest in music and videos lead to the creation of Shock Rock, a music video program hosted by Toulouse NoNeck also broadcast on WISN-TV starting in 1985. In 1988 Rick Felski abandoned broadcasting for a career in real estate.
