After George and Marian (Robert Sterling & Anne Jeffreys) realize they are
ghosts, they return to their home at 101 Maple Drive in New York City only to
find it had been purchased by banker Cosmo Topper (Leo G. Carroll).

Taking a liking to stuffy Cosmo, George Kerby ("The most sporting ghost), his
wife, Marian ("The ghostess with the mostess") and their ghostly
Martini-drinking St. Bernard named Neil (who died on the slopes with the Kerbys)
settled into a shared living arrangement (with Cosmo Topper being the only one
who could see them).
The rest of household consisted of Cosmo's wife, Henrietta (Lee Patrick) and
the Topper's maids Maggie and Katy (Edna Skinner/Kathleen Freeman).
The series is based on the novel "Topper" by Thorne Smith, and the film
Topper (1937) starring Cary Grant. TOPPER was television's first fantasy
series.
