Comet - Brown quarter horse seen on the sci-fi western THE ADVENTURES OF BRISCO COUNTY, JR/FOX/1993-94. Comet was the intelligent and resourceful horse of Brisco County, Jr. (Bruce Campbell), a Harvard-educated lawyer turned bounty hunter. During their travels, Brisco frequently spoke to and confided in his equine companion. Comet talked to Brisco in "horse language" and Brisco not surprisingly understood him. When not carrying Brisco along the dusty trails, Comet found time to crack safe combinations and play chess. Once when Brisco came upon a robbery, he instructed Comet "You take the one on the left, I'll get the one on the right."

The role of Comet's was actually performed by five horses: Strip, Copper (nicknamed "Leadbelly" by Campbell,"), Boss (nicknamed "Widowmaker" by Campbell), Ace and Comet.

Strip was the main trick horse. He did all the lip wiggles, head nods and hoof scrapes, knot tying and opening of doors. Copper, a gentle fourteen-year-old steed, was used for all the riding scenes. Boss was the stunt horse. He did the chase scenes, long-range shots, and crashing through the windows stuff. And Ace (who later fractured his pelvis) and Comet were used as specialty horses.

Since Strip was used as the main horse, all the other horses had to have greasepaint makeup to match Strip's white face strip and three white foot stockings.

The horse (Comet character) was also seen in the films Back to the Future III (1990) and Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). All the horses on the show were taught by horse trainer, Gordon Spencer.
