Sauryn's Amulet  -   Ancient pocket-sized amulet featured on the occult adventure DEAD LAST/WB/2001. Sauryn's amulet is round and covered in gold ornamentation and Latin phrases. A blue jewel protrudes (front and back) from the amulet's center. Sauryn's amulet has the power to let living humans see the dead...departed souls aimlessly wandering the earth and looking for a way to move onto eternity. Anyone possessing the amulet can counsel the ghosts they meet and help them find peace on another realm of existence. Three such people, Vaughn (Kett Turton), Scotty (Tyler Labine) and Jane (Sara Downing), were the members of the up-and-coming rock band named Problem. One night, Scotty fell through the floor in a Boston nightclub into a twenty foot pit below. There, he found the Amulet of Sauryn lying in the dirt. As they drove away to their next gig, their orange van passed through a supernatural barrier which scorched their paint job on the van and left everybody shaken up. Upon seeing a parade of strange characters like revolutionary redcoats, pilgrims and conquistadors, the mystified rockers finally realized the amulet was somehow making them see the dead. Immediately, they tried to get rid of it. They tried to bust it, burn, and throw it away, but it couldn't be damaged and it always came back to it new owners. Scotty, in a stroke of entrepreneurial creativity, began selling the amulet to antique dealers. After they gave away the cash, he exited the business and reached into his pocket to find the amulet still in his possession and ready to be sold to the next unsuspecting businessman. The amulet's last owner was a Pilgrim, whose ghostly form appeared to the rockers and told them about their situation. They were saddled with the amulet until they died. Now, the rock group Problem is very, very popular. Problem is, their new fans are dead and looking for help from Sauryn's amulet.

PILGRIM:	All I want to do is talk to you. About the Amulet of Sauryn.
JANE:	Amulet, amulet, amulet. I'm so sick of that thing.
PILGRIM:	That's unfortunate. Because you're stuck with it. You're the new possessors.
JANE:	All three of us? Scotty's the one who--
PILGRIM:	Anyone who was present at the moment the Amulet's power was released can see ghosts.
JANE:	That's a dumb rule.
PILGRIM:	And every ghost you encounter will want something from you. You have to help them, for you are the possessors.
JANE:	What if we don't give a rat's ass about ghosts?
PILGRIM:	Doesn't matter.
JANE:	We don't want to be Ghostbusters, okay? We're a band. What if we don't want to help ghosts. What then?
PILGRIM:	They will make your life very...difficult. The gentleman in your van? That was nothing. [a ghost's anger set their van on fire]
JANE:	Great. Just great. And how long can we expect to enjoy this...added bonus of ghosts? How long? How long??
PILGRIM:	Until you die.
