Outlaw Cafe
(Lyrics by Jerome A. Holst, © 1994)

(Verse) The stillness of a summer's night
Was broken by the sound of a fight
Coming from a saloon just down the way.
Things were flying everywhere
Tables, bottles, people, chairs
How that building rocked and swayed.
Teeth got broke, throats got choked
People tumbled round through dust and smoke
There goes another one flying out the door.
But no one really seemed to mind
The crowd sat back and drank whisky and wine
And one by one, they shouted out for more
(Chorus)
It was
Just another night
Just another night
Just a quiet night
At the Outlaw Cafe
Where people come
From miles around
To socialize
And pass the time away
(Verse)
Seems a stranger got caught cheating at cards
And the local boys laid into him hard
And threw him though the back window sill.
One man was flirting with another man's wife
A few seconds later there was a flash of a knife
And Eww, that red stuff started to spill.
Then two cowboys pulled out their guns
Pointed to some feet and said "Dance Son"
And some guy did a jig as they shot up the floor
But no one really seemed to mind
The crowd sat back drank whisky and wine
And one by one, they shouted out for more

  Repeat Chorus
(Verse)
Things had just started to settle down
When the James Boys rode into town
Looking for a nice cool glass of brew
Jesse and his boys stepped up to the bar
When somebody yelled reach for the stars
And brother that's when all hell broke loose
Bullets went flying through the air
Mirrors shattered, tempers flared
Those boys were a rippin' and a roarin'
But no one really seemed to mind
The crowd sat back and drank whisky and wine
And one by one, they shouted out for more

  Repeat Chorus
