Bananaman -
Superhero clad in a blue and yellow costume who
fights crime on the British children's science fiction cartoon BANANAMAN/BBC/1984/NIK/1989.
In reality, BananaMan is a young wimpy schoolboy
named Eric Twinge who lives at 29 Acacia Road. Eric's alter-ego, BananaMan
battles injustice with the help of his sidekick, a crow named Crow; Irish
police chief O'Reilly; Appleman, Bananaman's fruity ally, and Fiona, a TV
reporter on whom BananaMan has a crush.
Our big blue and yellow superhero battled the
likes of General Blight, a sworn arch enemy; as well as Dr. Gloom,
Weatherman, Auntie and Nerks, a green alien led by King Zorg.
The Bananaman character is based on a British
comic book hero.
Opening Narration
"This is 29, Acacia Road. And this is Eric, the schoolboy who leads an
exciting double life. For when Eric eats a banana, an amazing transformation
occurs. Eric is Bananaman. Ever alert for the call to action."
