SFPD: Hooperman - The police drama HOOPERMAN/ABC/1987-89
starred John Ritter as Inspector Harry Hooperman who worked for the San
Francisco Police Department.
Harry lived in a run-down apartment building at 633 Columbus Avenue in San
Francisco with his dog,
Bijoux. The dog
was willed to Harry by his landlady after her murder by a burglar. The will had one
important stipulation: Hooperman could have her apartment house if he took care
of her dog, And so began an uneasy relation between man and dog
(a vicious, yapping Jack Russell Terrier).
Unable to handle the responsibilities of both work and running the apartment
house, Harry hired Susan Smith (Debrah Farentino), an aspiring writer as the
building's manager and maintenance worker. Harry and Susan soon become
romantically involved.
