INTERPOL - An International Police Force established in Vienna in 1923 and reconstituted in Paris in 1946 whose responsibilities include being a worldwide clearinghouse for police information supplying its 100 member nations with data on criminals and criminal activities such as counterfeiting, forgery, smuggling and the narcotics trade. This international criminal police organization has been the subject of many television series including MAN FROM INTERPOL/SYN/1960, a syndicated British series about the adventures of New Scotland Yard Special Agent, Anthony Smith (Richard Wyler).
