Honeymooners Kitchen - On the classic
situation comedy THE HONEYMOONERS/CBS/1955-56 the droll, outspoken Alice Kramden
(Audrey Meadows) spent her days keeping house for Gotham City bus driver Ralph Kramden
(Jackie Gleason)

The "Home Pride" Kitchen stove, which Alice prepared meals for her rather
plump husband, was among the few pieces of furniture in the Kramden's drab,
two-room Bensonhurst apartment.
"You're out all day long. And at night what are you doin'? Spending money
playing pool, spending money bowling, and paying dues at the crazy lodge you
belong to. And I'm left here, to look at the icebox, the stove, the sink, and
these four walls. Well, I don't wanna look at that icebox, that stove, that
sink, and these four walls. I wanna look at Liberace!" - Alice on "TV or Not
TV"
On the episode "Funny Money" (aired October 8, 1955) Ralph hides a $50,000
stash of counterfeit cash that he found left on his bus in his apartment stove.
When the counterfeiters visit Ralph's apartment to get their money back, the
police arrive. Cleared of charges, Ralph is forced to return all the appliances
that he bought with the money before he realized the money was bogus.
All of the original kitchen furniture (modeled after Gleason's childhood
home) used on the series was later purchased
by the TV fan club organization called R.A.L.P.H. (The Royal Association for the
Longevity and Preservation of the Honeymooners). The group also owns the bus
driver's uniform worn by Jackie Gleason on the series.
On the Honeymooners Valentine Special (aired February 13,1978)
Ralph buys Alice an all-electric kitchen for Valentine's Day, including a
new TV, stove, refrigerator, washer & dryer.
