Fraggles - Friendly subterranean creatures seen on
the children's puppet program FRAGGLE ROCK/HBO/1983-86.

The Fraggles (who
love to sing) populate a world of underground caverns, grottoes, lakes and streams
where they live in harmony with the Doozers, tiny creatures who loved to build. Their
enemies were the giant Gorgs. The entrance to the Fraggles' world is accessed
through a hole in the basement wall at inventor Doc's workshop.
Uncle Matt, an elder Fraggle loves to leave the
security of his netherworld to wander among the humans on all sorts of
adventures. He often sent letters home to describe his travels.
The Fraggles were the muppet creations of
Jim Henson. On January 8, 1989 FRAGGLE ROCK became the first American television
series to be broadcast in the Soviet Union.
