H.R.Pufnstuf - The live-action puppet series H.R.PUFNSTUF/NBC/1969-71 told the story of a magic flute owned by a boy named Jimmy (Jack Wild) who got stranded on an island ruled by a dragon-like mayor named H.R. Pufnstuf. When Pufnstuf saw that Jimmy was in danger from an evil witch (Witchiepoo) who tries to snatch away the boy's  magic talking flute (Freddy), H.R. instructed his trusty crew of Rescue Racers (Cling and Clang) to pull the boy out of the water after his ship sank. But the witch was persistent in her desire to snatch Jimmy's flute, so Pufnstuf took the boy under his protection until he could find a way to get Jimmy safely home to his own world. Meanwhile Jimmy was a guest on Living Island, so named because literally everything on the island was a living being (trees, flowers, books, candles etc.) Residents included Cling and Clang (two bird policemen), Dr. Blinkey (a professorial owl), The Boyds (a band of musical birds), and Ludicrous Lion (a scam artist). Psst!  H.R. means "His Royal"

But Pufnstuf was watching too. And knew exactly what to do
He saw the witch’s boat attack. And as the boy was fighting back

He called his rescue racer crew. As often they’d rehearsed
And off to save the boy they flew. But who would get there first?

But now the boy had washed ashore. Puf arrived to save the day
Which made the witch so mad and sore. She shook her first and screamed away.
