Conky the Robot  - Silver and black robot on the Saturday morning children's program PEE WEE HERMAN'S PLAYHOUSE/CBS/1986-91. Conky the robot (voice of John Paragon) lived in the playhouse owned by Pee Wee Herman (Paul Reubens). Each week Pee Wee unplugged the extension cord that charged his robot, flipped Conky's on switch and then stood back to hear his mechanical friend say "Re..Re..Ready to assist you, Pee Wee!" Pee Wee then said "Good Morning, Conky, what's today's secret word?" Suddenly a small strip of paper spilled out of Conky's chest revealing the secret word for the day. As Pee Wee ripped off the paper, Conky said "Today's secret word is (fill in the blank). You all know what to do for the rest of the day. When anybody says the secret word, scream real loud, Okay!" Conky's body was a mish-mash of electronic parts including eyes fashioned from camera flash attachments; a boxy chest built out of a boom box with black speakers; arms tipped with metal pinchers; and a silver base equipped with small black wheels that propelled Conky about the playhouse. If Conky needed a tune-up, Pee Wee sent for Johnny Wilson, the authorized Conky repairman. (played by Jimmy Smits of L.A. LAW and NYPD BLUE fame).
