Romeo & Juliet were the personal pets of Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey (Kim Fields), a black youngster with braces on her teeth who attended Eastland School for Girls, a private school in suburban Peekskill, New York.

Tootie was also the first black girl to perform Juliet in the school's play production of "Romeo & Juliet."

TRIVIA NOTE: On the sitcom THE BRADY BUNCH/ABC/1969-74 Cindy Brady (Susan Olsen), the youngest of the girls also had two rabbits named Romeo and Juliet.
