Incest - The taboo topic of incest was taken to
task in the sensitively produced made-for-TV
movie Something About Amelia (written by
William Hanley) broadcast January 9, 1984.

The controversial film told the story of
teenager (Roxana Zal) who informed her mother
(Glenn Close) that her father (Ted Danson) was
forcing her to have sex with him. Zal won an
Emmy for her performance.
The topic of incest was later portrayed in the
TV-movie Not in My Family (1992)
starring Joanna Kerns and George Grizzard about
a family devastated by a daughter's revelation
of parental rape.
The script included dialogue like "Let's play
ride the horsey. That's what he would call it"
as a woman named Maggie (Shelley Hack) recalled
encounters with her father.
