Zippy the Chimp - Pet chimpanzee featured on a
number of TV shows in the 1950s including THE GARRY MOORE SHOW, HOWDY DOODY,
THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW, SUPER CIRCUS, THE PRICE IS RIGHT, and I'VE GOT A SECRET.
Zippy also played the role of Sylvester the Chimp, the sidekick of explorer
Captain Safari (Randy Kraft) on the short-lived
adventure CAPTAIN SAFARI OF THE JUNGLE PATROL/CBS/1955.
In addition,
Zippy worked with Tarzan as Cheeta. He also won a "Cleo Award" for his spot on a Xerox
commercial. Zippy was trained by Carole Womack.
