White Star - Sleek, needle-like spacecraft on the sci-fi series BABYLON-5/SYN/1994-98. The White Star was under the control of Delenn (Mira Furlan), an ambassador from the planet Minbar, who used the ship (later a whole fleet of them) in the battle against the Shadows, and evil alien empire bent on the conquest and destruction of the galaxy.

The White Star was created from Minbari and Vorlon technologies, using magnetic and gravitational drive systems, and was capable of forming its own Jump Point.

Assisting the White Star were the Star Fury pilots, human aviators based on the space station Babylon 5. The Star Fury spacecraft were small one-man fighter craft suspended in the belly of the space station like so many bats until dropped into space for missions of exploration and defense.

TRIVIA NOTE: The made-for TV movie Babylon 5: Call To Arms (1999) introduced a spacecraft called Excalibur (a product of both Earth and Vorlon technology). The hull was designed to refract heat and laser fire. If the ship's main weapons were fired at their maximum setting, it took about a minute to recharge the ship's energy supply, making it temporarily vulnerable to enemy attack. The Excalibur was later commissioned to travel the universe to find a cure for a deadly bio-genetic plague planted into Earth's atmosphere by marauding aliens (the Drakh).
