Majestic 12 - Top secret organization founded in 1947 to investigate incidents at Roswell, New Mexico on the sci-fi series DARK SKIES/NBC/1996-97.

Composed of 12 directors who formed its core leadership, Majestic was created through the auspices of President Harry S. Truman after his meeting with space aliens who demanded the unconditional surrender of Earth.

Truman responded by shooting down the spacecraft. The aliens, in the meantime, infiltrated human bodies by implanting ganglion like organism into earthling brains to manipulate their zombie hosts to perform such unspeakable acts such as the assassination of JFK and to cover their tracks by directing Jack Ruby to kill Lee Harvey Oswald.

The Majestic 12 project was hiding the existence of aliens from the public. John Loengard (Eric Close) and Kim Sayers (Megan Ward)  knew about  the aliens ("The Hive") and Majestic 12 was trying to keep them from disclosing the secret occupation of our planet.

Episode No. 48 "Anasazi" on the drama THE X-FILES/FOX/1993-2002 featured a hunt for MJ documents hacked from Defense Department computers by an anarchist known as "The Thinker" (later found dead).
