O.S.S. - During the Second World War, the Allies developed the Office of Strategic Services to gather intelligence on their enemies. This real-life spy agency was the subject of the wartime drama O.S.S/ABC/1957-58 filmed in England and France. It starred Ron Randall as Captain Frank Hawthorn who worked with the Allies to battled the Nazis behind enemy lines. The series technical consultant/co-producer Colonel William Eliscu was a former O.S.S. member. In 1947 the United States government by act of Congress (The National Security Act) superseded the O.S.S. and formed the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency).
