Superman Statue - Towering red blue and yellow statue of Kryptonian superhero Superman that is located in Massac County in the small town of Metropolis, Illinois.

The bronze (originally fiberglass) statue of the "Man of Steel" stands arms akimbo beside the old courthouse on Superman Square. Atop its pedestal, the statue commands a clear view down Main Street.

The statue was crafted by a sculptor from Paducah, Kentucky whose works had been displayed primarily at local golf courses.

Superman has appeared in the TV series ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN/SYN/1951-57; SUPERBOY/SYN/1988-91; LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN/ABC/1993-1999 and SMALLVILLE/WB/2001+. See also ALIENS: "Superman"
