As the announcer introduced the program, he proclaimed "more
powerful than a locomotive" to describe
Superman, an alien being from the planet Krypton.

Southern Pacific Diesel Train used in
the color episodes
On the TV show, Superman saved Lois Lane from a train in the last
episode, and when the character resurfaced in the 1978 film
Superman, a young Clark Kent (Jeff
East) outraces a passing train whose passengers coincidentally,
included
Kirk Alyn (a former Superman form the 1940s movie serials) and Noel Neill
(who played Lois Lane in the 1950s TV series).
