  Vulnerabilities - Food

Cheese - Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy), a beautiful but vain college student on the sitcom A DIFFERENT WORLD/NBC/1987-93 could not eat cheese nor could she abide anyone else eating cheese in her presence. Other dislikes included people touching or wearing her clothing; and her need to use a bar of soap only once (she couldn't imagine using soap that had touched someone else's body).

Fonzie & Liver - Arthur Fonzarelli (Henry Winkler) the ultra-cool garage mechanic on the sitcom HAPPY DAYS/ABC/1974-84 was just about the toughest guy on the block. But, in the presence of a piece of wet, drippy brown beef liver, the Fonz withdrew in horror much like a vampire in the presence of a crucifix. As he said "I don't like that. I don't eat that. And I don't go out with guys who eat it." On episode No. 72 "The Muckrackers" the Fonz's friend Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard) decided to expose Fonzie's phobia of beef liver in a front page story in the school newspaper. At first Fonzie asked Richie not to run the story and even resorted to threats, but integrity ridden Richie would not bow to the pressures that would curtail the freedom of the press. Not the kind of person to let a weakness control him, the Fonz finally got the nerve to eat liver and overcame his fear. Fonzie also had a hard time admitting he was "wr-wr-wrong." Jell-O - On the fantasy sitcom OUT OF THIS WORLD/SYN/1987-91 Donna Pescow played Donna Garlund, a former cheerleader who fell in love with an alien from the planet Anterias. Although she had the moxie to have a daughter, Evie (Maureen Flannigan), operate a catering service and later run for Mayor of the town of Marlowe, she had one vulnerability. She was afraid of Jell-O. According to her "It's just not right, the way it wiggles."

Wade Swoboda & Blueberries - On the sitcom GRACE UNDER FIRE/ABC/1993-98 Grace Kelly's next-door neighbor, Wade Swoboda (Casey Sander) once mentioned that he had a few things he didn't like. They included wet feet, bicycles, and blueberries. His reasons? He hated wet feet because he spent a lot of time walking through rice paddies and swamps during his tour of duty in Vietnam and very rarely had dry feet. He hated bicycles because a Vietnamese riding a bicycle tossed a bomb into a building and killed his army buddies. As for the blueberries, Wade had an Aunt Flo who canned blueberries every year and forced him to eat the bounty of her harvest when he was a kid. "Not all my drama comes out of South East Asia," he confided to Grace.
