TRIVIA NOTE: The TV movie pilot for the series entitled Scalplock first aired on The ABC Sunday Night Movie on April 10, 1966.

In 1924, John Ford directed a western film entitled The Iron Horse. Starring George O'Brien, the film chronicled the efforts of surveyor Davey Brandon, as he helps build the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railways across the western expanse of the United States in the year 1862.

The Native American Indians called the locomotive the "Iron Horse."
