The story of the stagecoach men who rode
between Missouri and California in the days
of the 1860s before the coming of the railroad.
The drivers and crew included:
- Wayne Rogers as Luke Perry, stage driver
- Robert Bray as Simon Kane, stage driver
- Richard Eyer as Davey Kane, Simon's son, who
rides along with his father as he makes his runs through the
territory.
Friends of the crew included:
- Olan Soule as Cal, the Timberline Depot Clerk.
- Robert J. Stevenson as Marshal Hugh Strickland.
- James Burke as Zeke Bonner.
- John Litel as Dan Murchison.
TRIVIA NOTE: STAGECOACH WEST
was the first TV series role for Wayne Rogers
who later earned fame as Trapper John on the
military comedy M*A*S*H/CBS/1972-82.
