JAMES GARNER AS NICHOLS  See - "Nichols"

JEFFERSON DRUM/NBC/1958-59 - Jeff Richards starred as Jefferson Drum, a crusading Old West newspaper publisher living in the 1850s mining town of Jubilee. Also featured were Cyril Delavanti as Lucius Coin, the town printer; and Robert J. Stevenson as Big Ed, the local bartender. (30 Minutes) 

JESSE JAMES  See - "The Legend of Jesse James"

JOHNNY RINGO/CBS/1959-60 - Don Durant starred as Johnny  Ringo, an ex-gunfighter-turned-sheriff who maintained law and order in the 1880s town of Velardi, Arizona using a specially designed LeMat handgun with an extra barrel that fired a shotgun round. Note: Don Durant died of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia on March 15, 2005. His show spawned 100 toys and other items, including board games, character puppets, gun sets and canteens. JUDGE ROY BEAN/SYN/1955-56 - The adventures of Judge Roy Bean, a storekeeper, who appointed himself the law to bring justice to the Texas territory of the 1870s. Edgar Buchanan played the role of Judge Roy Bean. (30 Minutes)

JUDY SPLINTERS/SYN/1949-50  - This popular children's program featured Judy Splinters, a cowgirl dummy who wore a cowgirl hat with chin strap, pig tails with bows, plaid shirt and western jeans. Shirley Dinsdale, the 21-year-old ventriloquist who operated Judy wore a complementary cowgirl hat and costume. In 1948, Shirley Dinsdale won an Emmy for Children's Entertainment. In 1949 she moved from KTLA-TV in Los Angeles to substitute for the vacationing KUKLA, FRAN AND OLLIE puppet program in Chicago and later moved to her own program in New York. 

JUNIOR  RODEO/ABC/1952 - Cowboy singer Bob Atcher hosted this children's program featuring contests, games and music. Atcher previously appeared on the 1951 puppet show titled MEADOWGOLD RANCH, telecast locally on WBKB-TV in Chicago.
