THE SAGA OF ANDY BURNETTE/ABC/1958
- Frontier adventure produced under the "Frontierland" banner of the WALT DISNEY PRESENTS/ABC/1954-61 starring Jerome Courtland as Andy Burnette, a young frontiersman who roamed the Colorado/Dakotas/Wyoming areas of the 1830-1840s as buffalo hunter/mountain man/trapper. The series was based on the real-life character and the book Andy Burnette's Diary. (60 Minutes) 

SARA/CBS/1976 - Brenda Vaccaro starred as Sara Yarnell, a strong-willed school teacher from the East, who settled in the 1870s town of Independence, Colorado and began teaching students in a one-room school house. (60 Minutes) 

SATURDAY ROUNDUP/NBC/1951 - Anthology series featuring adaptations of James Oliver Curwood's western stories. Each story starred Kermit Maynard, a 1930s "B" western movie star and former champion rodeo rider. (60 Minutes) 

THE SECRET EMPIRE/NBC/1979 - Set in the Wyoming territory of the 1880s, Geoffrey Scott starred as Marshal Jim Donner, who discovered a secret kingdom of aliens from outer space (Chimerians) living beneath the town of Cheyenne. The marshal formed an alliance with a rebel faction of the aliens known as Partisans to overthrow the evil Emperor Thorval (Mark Lenard) who enslaved his people with a mind control device called the "Compliatron." The program was one of three serials on the CLIFFHANGERS series. (20 Minutes)           

SERGEANT PRESTON OF THE YUKON/CBS/1955-58 - Richard Simmons starred as Sergeant William Preston, a Canadian Mountie, who maintained law and order amidst the rugged Northwest Territories. His sidekicks included his horse, Rex and his malamute dog, Yukon King. (30 Minutes) 

SHANE/ABC/1966 - Wandering the Wyoming territory of the late 19th century, a gunfighter named Shane championed the cause of widow Marian Starett (Jill Ireland) and her son Joey (Christopher Shea) who were being pressured by land hungry cattle rancher Rufe Ryker (Bert Freed) to leave their homestead. (60 Minutes) 

THE SHERIFF OF COCHISE/SYN/1956-60 - Contemporary police drama set in Cochise County, Arizona starring John Bromfield as Sheriff Frank Morgan who maintained law and order with the assistance of his deputies Olson (Stan Jones), Blake (Robert Brubaker) and Tom Ferguson (James Griffith). The series title later changed to U.S. MARSHAL. 

SHOTGUN SLADE/SYN/1959-61 - Working for such agencies as Wells Fargo, Shotgun Slade (Scott Brady) roamed the frontier of the 1890s as a private detective. His weapon of choice was a rather unique, custom two-in-one rifle and shotgun - a full-length over/under combination rifle & shotgun. Slade could also quickly break it
down into 2 pieces for discreet storage in luggage. (30 Minutes) 

SIERRA/NBC/1974 - Contemporary adventure about Park Rangers stationed at the fictitious Sierra National park. Staff included Chief Ranger Jack Moore (Jack Hogan) and Rangers Tim Cassidy (James G. Richardson), Matt Harper (Ernest Thompson), P.J. Lewis (Mike Warren) and Julie Beck (Susan Foster). The series was filmed at Yosemite National Park. 

SKY KING/NBC/ABC/1953-54 - Set in the Arizona Territory, Kirby Grant starred as Skylar "Sky" King, a former WWII Naval aviator/rancher who patrolled his Flying Crown Ranch in his twin engine Cessna called The Songbird. Assisting him were his niece, Penny (Gloria Winters) and his nephew and co-pilot, Clipper (Ron Hagerthy). (30 Minutes) 

THE SLOWEST GUN IN THE WEST - A CBS produced comedy western satire starring Jack Benny and Phil Silvers that aired on May 7, 1960. (60 minutes) 

SNOWY RIVER: THE MCGREGOR SAGA/FAM/1993-96 - Set in the Australian frontier of the late 1800s, this adventure followed the exploits of the McGregor clan as they ran the family's sprawling Langara ranch. Family members included Andrew Clarke as Matt McGregor; Joshua Lucas as Luke McGregor; Brett Climo as Colin McGregor; Guy Pearce as Rob McGregor; Jolene Crnogorac as Danni McGregor and Sheryl Munks as Emily McGregor. The McGregor's nemesis was the Blackwood family who owned a nearby ranch. The series is based on the movies The Man from Snowy River (1982) and Return to Snowy River (1988) a.k.a. The Man from Snowy River II (1988). 

STAGECOACH WEST/ABC/1960-61 - The story of the stagecoach men who rode between Missouri and California in the days before the Iron Horse. The drivers included Luke Perry (Wayne Rogers) and Simon Kane (Robert Bray). David Kane (Richard Eyer), Simon's brother was a tagalong. (60 Minutes) 

STEVE DONOVAN, WESTERN RANGER/SYN/1951 - Frontier Marshal Steve Donovan (Douglas Kennedy) maintained law and order in Wyoming Territory of the 1870s assisted by his deputy, Rusty Lee (Eddy Waller). In 1955 the series was re-syndicated as STEVE DONOVAN, WESTERN MARSHAL. (30 Minutes) 

STONEY BURKE/ABC/1962-63 - Contemporary western about Stoney Burke (Jack Lord), a professional rodeo rider who struggled to attain "The Golden Buckle," the highest award of the rodeo circuit. (60 Minutes) 

STORIES OF THE CENTURY/SYN/1954 - Western adventure anthology starring Jim Davis as railroad detective Matt Clark who weekly tracked down such notorious frontier outlaws as Belle Starr, Billy the Kid, Butch Cassidy, and Jesse James with the assistance of his lovely female helpers Frankie Adams (Mary Castle) and Jonesy Jones (Kristine Miller). The series was also known as THE FAST GUNS and TALES OF THE WEST. 

SUGARFOOT/ABC/1957-61 - The story of Tom "Sugarfoot" Brewster (Will Hutchins), a naive young law student who left the East in search of adventure on the frontier of the 1860s. He earned his nickname because he was one step lower than a tenderfoot.(60 Minutes) 

THE SWAMP FOX/ABC/1958 - Revolutionary War adventure story featured as part of the "Frontierland" banner of the WALT DISNEY PRESENTS/ABC/1954-61. Leslie Nielsen starred as Francis Marion (1732-95), an early American guerrilla fighter who battled and befuddled the British in the Charleston, South Carolina area. As the theme song stated "Swamp Fox, Swamp Fox tail on his hat, nobody knows where the Swamp Fox at..." (60 Minutes)
