Jackie Gleason's Dislocated Leg - On
the January 30, 1954 installment of THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW in a satire of the silent movie
"The Wedding", Jackie Gleason was playing a "Peck's bad boy" character
when he accidentally slipped and fell while performing one of his
own pranks. The audience thought it was hilarious. Gleason left the
stage as indiscreetly as possible and headed for Doctor's Hospital.
He had dislocated his right foot, torn ligaments and fractured a
leg. He returned to the air on March, 23, 1954.
