Andy Panda - Panda bear featured in a series of cartoons created by Walter Lantz beginning with Life Begins for Andy Panda (1939). The idea for Andy Panda was inspired by a news story about a panda bear being donated to the Chicago Zoo. Andy Panda teamed with Woody Woodpecker in the animated short Knock Knock (1940) and later his cartoons appeared as part of THE WOODY WOODPECKER SHOW/ABC/1957. Over the years, the voice of Andy Panda was performed by Bernice Hansel, Sarah Berner and Walter Tetley. Andy debuted in Dell's comic book Crackajack Funnies No. 39 in 1941. Andy's girlfriend is Miranda Panda.
