Cinderella, The Teenage Delinquent - Modern update of the classic fairy tale as written by Morticia Addams (Carolyn Jones) on episode No. 42 "Morticia. the Writer" (11-5-65) on the sitcom THE ADDAMS FAMILY/ABC/1964-66. Morticia Addams was disappointed with the juvenile delinquents in classic children's literature especially Hansel and Gretel for pushing a sweet old lady into the oven; and Goldilocks for acting so beastly to those three nice bears. But, in Morticia's opinion, the worst was that Cinderella. "Imagine! Those two good Samaritans take her off the street and what does she do? The night they need her most, she runs off in a pumpkin!" To rectify the situation, Morticia, with the assistance of Thing, (who transcribes the story for her) dictated her own version titled "Cinderella, the Teenager Delinquent." The new ending read: "As the clock struck twelve, the police summoned by the kindly stepmother, found Cinderella cowering in the ashes with the stolen glass slipper and yanked her off to the pokey...The End."
