City of Strangers - First novel of magazine reporter
Donald Hollinger (Ted Bessell) mentioned on episode # 20 “Gone
with the Breeze” on the sitcom THAT GIRL/ABC/1966-71.
Upon
completing his first manuscript, Donald gives his book to his
girlfriend Ann Marie (Marlo Thomas) to read. Unfortunately, Ann
misplaces the book and comes up with all sorts of excuses when
Donald pushes for an opinion of his work. Donald later finds the
book in his office and teases Ann into confessing she lost it.
Donald’s novel is next mentioned on episode #34 “Black, White
and Read All Over” when Donald receives his twelfth rejection
slip.
To help Donald get his book published, Ann’s father Lew
Marie (Lew Parker) offers to show it to a famous publisher he
knows. However, after Lew reads the book, he is shocked at its
content and refuses to submit it.
