Absorbitron - Alien chemical mentioned on episode No. 51 "It May Look Like A Walnut" (02/06/1963) on the sitcom THE DICK VAN DYKE/CBS/1961-66. Comedy writer Rob Petrie (Dick Van Dyke) first learned about the chemical Absorbitron when he stayed up to watch a late night movie thriller about aliens from the planet Twilo who used Absorbitron to take over the Earth. The Twilo-ites subdued earthlings by exposing them to the chemical Absorbitron which caused humans to lose their thumbs and imagination, the two things that made humans human.
