Absorbitorn - Alien chemical
mentioned on episode No. 51 "It May Look Like A Walnut" (02/06/1963) on the
sitcom THE DICK VAN DYKE/CBS/1961-66. Comedy writer Rob Petrie (Dick Van Dyke)
first learned about the chemical Absorbitron when he stayed up to watch a late
night movie thriller about aliens from the planet Twilo who used Absorbitron to
take over the Earth.
The Twilo-ites subdued earthlings by exposing them to the chemical
Absorbitron which caused humans to lose their thumbs and imagination, the two
things that made humans human.
Without their creative ability and thumbs to use or design weapons, the
