Alex 7000 - Compassionless computer (a
la HAL 9000 from the novel/movie 2001) that appeared on the two-part
1977 episodes "Doomsday is Tomorrow" on the sci-fi adventure
THE BIONIC WOMAN/ABC/NBC/1976-78.
Designed by Dr. Elijah Cooper (Lew Ayres), ALEX 7000
was a mainframe computer that controlled all functions of an underground
complex including a "Doom's Day" device.
Dodging a gauntlet of lasers and
other electronic booby traps controlled by Alex 7000 (voice by Guerin Barry), Jaime Sommers, the
Bionic Woman (Lindsay Wagner) deactivated the computer before it destroyed
the world.
